Lukashenko asked not to interfere in CEC work, shared views on how coming five years will develop
The coming five years will not be easy, but all issues can be resolved if the organisational aspects are taken seriously – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s meeting on the holding of the 2005 election
The Head of State stressed that the Belarusian society is united, and the economy is showing good results. He warned, however, “The coming five years will not be easy, and this is probably true about the next year.”
The Head of State admitted that he always tries to protect society from various conversations about sanctions, though the sanction pressure does not stop. “They [the West] have been increasingly strangling Russia and us, as well. Of course, these sanctions affect the economy. We have organised logistics, we have found the routes for the supply of our goods, but the price of these logistics supplies has increased. Therefore, enterprises would be much richer if there were no these obstacles. However, we will make appropriate conclusions, and the main task for us is to be organised,” he said.
The Belarusian leader called on all local governors, especially in the east of Belarus, to keep all these problems under control.
The President also stressed that the Chairman of the Central Election Commission is the main actor during the election campaign, so he asked the entire vertical of power to view him as a guideline. “We should render assistance in any aspect he asks for. At the same time, it is no need to take the lead in cases when there should be no interference. There is no need for us to do this. They will reproach us less for interfering in the election then. We have already become more experienced over the past years, we understand that power cannot be kept by force, and we are not going to do that. We have drawn conclusions from the year 2020, so we will act as our country and our people need,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
