Lukashenko arrived to Moscow on working visit, CIS Summit scheduled to be held in Russian capital
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived in the Russian Federation on a working visit, BelTA reports
It is planned that, on October 8th, Aleksandr Lukashenko will take part in a meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council in Moscow.
The agenda of the summit is very broad. It is expected that the CIS leaders will consider the issues related to security, high technology, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian co-operation.
The programme of Aleksandr Lukashenko's working visit also includes events as part of informal communication between the CIS heads of state.
As previously reported by the CIS Executive Committee press service, the heads of state will exchange views on co-operation within the CIS and decide on the presidency in the Commonwealth in 2025.
An appeal to the peoples of the Commonwealth and the world community in connection with the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 is expected to be discussed and adopted at the summit. In addition, the activities of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly aimed at strengthening integration co-operation and other issues on the agenda will be considered.
The heads of state will name the CIS cultural capitals for the next three years and also adopt amendments to a number of documents related to co-operation in the legal field, as well as in the field of security.
It is expected that a number of statements by the CIS heads of state will be adopted at the meeting.
In turn, a regular meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers is scheduled to be held in Moscow on October 7th.
