Lukashenko arrived in Volozhin for regional Dazhynki
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko is taking part in the Dazhynki-2024 festival-fair in Volozhin today, BelTA reports
Volozhin is the capital of the main holiday of grain growers in the Minsk Region this year, and it has been noticeably beautified for the festival: almost Br100m has been invested in its infrastructure. Interestingly, Volozhin is giving birth to a new tradition: the Dazhynki host-city will be considered the temporary capital of the region.
Thematic sites, interactive and photo zones are organised in Volozhin, and guests to the festival could also visit its long shopping rows, the city of masters, and exhibitions. Following the established tradition, best representatives of the agro-industrial complex of the region will be awarded on the main stage.
This year, a quarter of all grain harvested in the country was grown in the Minsk Region: 2.5 million tonnes of cereals and legumes, corn and rapeseed. The average grain yield (together with corn) stood at almost 44 dt/ha, reaching 100 dt/ha and even more in the best farms in the region: Gastellovskoye, Snov, Gritskevichi, and Pyatigorye.
