Lukashenko appreciated subbotnik in Khatyn: we’re doing the right thing
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has taken part in a nationwide subbotnik in Khatyn for the second year in a row, in a place which is sacred to every Belarusian. A year ago, the Head of State set the task of reconstructing the complex. This year, a small oak grove appeared here, with Aleksandr Lukashenko and his team planting 80 oak trees to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy.
The Belarusian Head of State appreciated the park of historical memory, where he and his team planted 149 maples last year. All trees have taken root, “Everything is interconnected in nature. We just haven’t studied it; we don’t know anything about nature at all. Therefore, it is better to worship it.”
The Belarusian leader also showed places where, according to him, everyone can plant trees, “Landmarks will be placed: just choose a place, plant and sign [if you want].”
ONT TV channel journalist Anna Pyzh noted that quite often the weather and atmosphere in Khatyn are gloomy, while today the sun is bright and the atmosphere is completely different.
“So we’re doing the right thing!” Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.
