Lukashenko appointed Pertsov Deputy Head of President Administration
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has appointed Vladimir Pertsov Deputy Head of the President Administration, BelTA reports
Until recently, Vladimir Pertsov has worked as the Minister of Information of Belarus.
"Ideological work is coming to the fore today, and a decision has been made to send you to the President Administration to oversee the informational sphere in the country in general. When appointing the Deputy Head of President Administration on Economy (you probably followed that), I told him that we need to somehow concentrate and build a pyramid. There are a lot of good specialists in our ministries, departments and the Government, and they are to be centred round the Deputy Head of the President Administration to work in the economy. In the same way, it is necessary to concentrate and put everything in order in the media and ideological work, bringing it under the guidance of the Deputy Head of the President Administration – or maybe even creating a commission under his leadership, so that it is possible to consult and respond in time," the Head of State said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Vladimir Pertsov has good experience in the information sphere. Earlier, he worked as a regional head of radio and television, headed the Mir TV and Radio Company representative office in Belarus. “I respect this very serious company, and I have always treated it well. The company made a progress in times when you led it,” the President noted.
"I would like everything in the sphere to be put in order in Belarus, and I mean the ideological work. You know how to talk to people, and this is a rare skill. I always say that it is a true rarity when a person can conduct ideological work – not just to come as we once had an information political day on Thursday, when everyone, including those who should have been present and those who not, came, we talked, but that conversation quite often brought harm,” the Head of State said.
"I think this radical step – from the position of minister to head of mass media, ideological work in the country – is a necessary and useful step in this direction," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “There will be a lot of work, but this will be a very independent work. It’s no need to think that someone – either the Head of the President Administration or someone else – will guide this work. No, this will be solely your organisational work. The Head of the Administration and all the others, including me, will help you. This work needs to be structured, and I hope you will do it."
