Lukashenko appointed new Deputy Defenсe Minister and Commander of Northwestern Operational Command

On July 17th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decrees making personnel appointments in the Armed Forces, sb.by reports with reference to the Head of State’s press service

Major General Aleksandr Naumenko has been appointed Deputy Defence Minister in place of Major General Andrei Zhuk, who was dismissed from this position and retired due to his age.

Until now, Aleksandr Naumenko has held the position of Commander of the Northwestern Operational Command of Belarus’ Armed Forces. Now Major General Aleksandr Bas has been appointed to this post; he has been relieved of his post as Head of the Main Combat Training Directorate of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
