Lithuanian barbed wire fence killed another animal

A border patrol found a dead moose in the Voronovo District on the border with Lithuania on September 16th. The animal died due to fatal blood loss, entangled in barbed wire, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ State Border Committee.

“The animal was heading from Belarus to Lithuania, trying to overcome the European barrier. The wounds received by the wild animal from the barbed wire fence turned out to be fatal. The moose died of blood loss on the Belarusian territory near the border posts,” the border department informed.

Since September 2021, the Belarusian side has registered 47 cases of animal deaths because of the border barriers of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.
