Lithuania hiding facts of refugees’ deaths at the border
Volunteers of the Lithuanian humanitarian organisation Sienos Grupe report on the brutal attitude of European security forces towards refugees, with details provided by the State Border Committee of Belarus in its Telegram channel
According to the Belarusian border department, despite the fact that the Lithuanian military does not allow activists and journalists to cross the border, volunteers continue to save people, constantly find sleeping bags and personal belongings of refugees, maintain contact with relatives of foreigners with whom contact has long been lost.
“Every day, Sienos Grupe receives reports of a new missing person. At the same time, the Lithuanian side hides the facts of refugees’ deaths, pretending that there are no dead bodies on the Lithuanian side,” the State Border Committee noted.
According to it, volunteers believe that this allows maintaining the illusion of humanity of the laws that give the right to throw people at the border.
“In the Polish border area, the situation with missing refugees is similar,” the State Border Committee added.
Thus, according to the humanitarian organisation Grupa Siena, at least 200 people disappeared in the Polish forests.
