Liaisons strengthening between medical universities of Belarus and Russia
Co-operation of the Belarusian State Medical University with the Izhevsk State Medical Academy and the Far Eastern State Medical University has achieved a new level – as informed by BSMU following the visits of the Russian medical universities’ representatives to Minsk
As the Belarusian State Medical University reported, interdepartmental co-operation with the Izhevsk State Medical Academy in the field of phthisiology has been successfully developing for several years, and the visit of Oleg Russkikh, the Head of the Phthisiology Department of the Russian University, became a logical continuation of long-standing partnership and friendly ties. The paediatric dentistry department of BSMU and the Far Eastern State Medical University have also been liaising for many years.
According to Mr. Russkikh, the Izhevsk State Medical Academy has something to offer to its Belarusian partners in the field of phthisiopulmonology: it has accumulated much experience in training students and enhancing their professional motivation. The specialised department is ready to welcome Belarusian specialists for internship in the near future, taking into account the epidemiological situation.
The guests also discussed co-operation in the academic and scientific fields, possible joint researches, online conferences and webinars, and also strengthening of academic mobility.
BSMU Rector, Sergei Rubnikovich, stressed that his university is always ready to support any form of effective international co-operation. As a result of the meetings, agreements on international liaisons in the field of medical science and education, on academic and scientific exchanges with the Far Eastern State Medical University and a memorandum of co-operation with the Izhevsk State Medical Academy were signed.
