Krutoi: results of 10th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia to strengthen bilateral co-operation

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation, Dmitry Krutoi, and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Yuri Vorobyov held a meeting to discuss the prospects for the development of Belarusian-Russian relations and integration processes within the Union State

According to the Belarusian embassy in Moscow, the parties discussed the preparations for the visit to Moscow of the parliamentary delegation headed by the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova. Among the topics discussed was also the preparation for the forthcoming 10th anniversary Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia in Ufa in 2023. The two sides also tackled topical issues of the domestic and foreign policy agenda of the two countries.

During the meeting, Dmitry Krutoi noted the special role of parliaments in legislative support for the implementation of 28 Union State programmes, for the realisation of which more than 400 acts and bilateral agreements are to be adopted. Speaking about the preparations for the 10th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, the Ambassador expressed confidence that its results would be another significant contribution of Belarusian and Russian senators to expanding interregional interaction and strengthening bilateral liaisons.

According to the Belarusian embassy, Yury Vorobyov, in turn, believes that the anniversary forum should highlight the milestones of dialogue and collaboration between the regions of the two countries, outlining the prospects for further interaction.
