Krutoi: Belarus-Russia trade turnover reached $50bn
By the end of 2022, the trade turnover between Belarus and Russia amounted to $50bn – as stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, Dmitry Krutoi, during a recent meeting of the high-level group of the Union State’s Council of Ministers held in Minsk
“We live in new conditions connected with the crisis of international law and unprecedented sanctions imposed on the economies of Belarus and Russia for almost a year. Contrary to the expectations of the West, we have not ruined, and our enterprises have not stopped their work. We register no mass unemployment or social unrest. We are rather developing normally, making plans for the future. Our trade turnover has reached the landmark figure of $50bn – setting a new record in the history of our relations,” Mr. Krutoi said.
The diplomat emphasised that this and subsequent years will become a test of strength for the countries, indicating whether they will be able to keep to this high level.
“Our common economic space, which is one of the goals of the basic agreement, will be achieved if each ministry and department of the two countries successfully carries out the activities of the approved 28 Union State programmes on a daily basis,” Mr. Krutoi added.
