Kochanova: we must reveal truth about genocide of Belarusian people
Belarusians must reveal to the whole world the truth about the tragedy that occurred on our land – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, at the excavation site in Uruchie, where the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus carries out painstaking work to collect evidence of the criminal atrocities of the Nazi invaders and their accomplices on the BSSR territory during the Great Patriotic War
“We are grateful to the Prosecutor General’s Office for inviting us to look at the atrocities that were happening on our land with our own eyes rather than from books or films,” the Speaker of the Council of the Republic said. “There is no excuse for Nazism, there is no excuse for those people who committed these crimes. They can’t even be called people, they just destroyed and exterminated our nation. Therefore, we are greatly indebted to those who defended our freedom and independence, who gave us a peaceful sky at the cost of their lives. Of course, we should be grateful to everyone who fought. We bow low and express the words of gratitude to our Prosecutor General’s Office, which took the initiative to carry out such work, and to our President who supported this proposal. The Head of State has directed us to do this work. We must reveal the whole truth about the tragedy that took place on our land. The Council of the Republic members supported the bill on the genocide of the Belarusian people. This was done absolutely correctly, because the world should understand that Belarusians will do everything possible to never allow such a tragedy to happen again.”
