Kochanova: over the years, we see that decision to set up Union State completely justified itself

Over the years, we see that the wise decision to set up Belarus-Russia Union State has justified itself 100 percent – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, during the Minsk-Moscow Union State live streaming

As Natalya Kochanova noted, people in Belarus and Russia understood that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, we just can’t part. A wise decision was made to create a Union State.

“Over the years, we see that the decision made at that time has completely justified itself. Twenty-eight Union State programmes have been implemented – aimed at co-operation across absolutely all areas. This is primarily an economy, which includes transport, petrochemistry, processing industry, agriculture, culture and education. We see the result. The next programme which is already being implemented is planned for 2024-2026. The most important thing is that this is a result for the citizens of Belarus and Russia, the creation of equal conditions for people and enterprises,” she stressed.

Natalya Kochanova also mentioned such structures as the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) and BRICS. According to the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, today we see how they are gaining strength.

“These are serious structures that have proven themselves on the world stage. What unites us? First of all, we stand for a multipolar world and non-interference in the internal affairs of independent, sovereign states. We oppose any dominance. Every country has the right to develop and live according to its own laws, in line with its interests and traditions. That’s what’s fundamental, and that’s the keynote. Of course, this is also the fight against terrorism, extremism, and unlawful sanctions against states,” Natalya Kochanova added.
