Kochanova on preparations for 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia
Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova held a meeting in Polotsk, discussing preparations for the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, attended by heads of ministries, chairs of city executive committees, and heads of large enterprises, since the forum’s activities will cover three cities at once: Vitebsk, Polotsk and Novopolotsk
The Speaker of the Council of the Republic underlined that these cities of the Vitebsk Region were chosen to show our history.
“Today we’ve gathered here in Polotsk to once again determine where the sections and facilities will work,” said Natalya Kochanova. “There is still a lot of preparatory work, taking into account that we also have an important political event – an election campaign – but I think that we will welcome the guests with honour and dignity.”
According to Natalya Kochanova, such a format for strengthening co-operation as the Forum of Regions has proven itself well, and today the main thing is to choose the topic and its content, “Work is already underway to prepare contracts and agreements that will be signed within the framework of this event, because this is always fundamental,” she added. “In this regard, we are working to prepare topics that will be discussed at the forum. Everything is being done to show in full the historical sites in Polotsk, and the city of Polotsk – as the basis of our spirituality, as the Mecca of our statehood – where the history of our country began, where there is a huge number of museums, historical values that guests who come to us should see. Therefore, local authorities must do everything to make our cities look decent.”
