Kochanova on Middle East conflict: it’s becoming dangerous for entire world
Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova stated this at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Belarus Ahmed Mohammed al-Madbuh
“The main thing is that peace and tranquillity be restored in your country, so that people do not suffer or die,” said the Speaker of the Council of the Republic. “We’re closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and deeply regret that civilians and children are dying. Belarus is a country that experienced the same tragedy. This year we’ll be celebrating the 80th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders, and we know how terrible it is when people die.”
In connection with the Middle East conflict, the Presidium of the Council of the Republic made an appeal to fellow parliamentarians of all countries to stop the bloodshed in the conflict zone so that it could be settled peacefully as quickly as possible. According to Natalya Kochanova, only this method of solution is acceptable.
“The conflict must be stopped immediately, because other countries are being drawn into it which is becoming dangerous for all humanity,” the Head of the Upper House of Parliament is confident. Every nation has the right to self-determination and a quiet life. For our part, we’re ready to do everything possible to help stop the bloodshed. In our time, such terrible tragedies are unacceptable. I hope that reason will prevail and peace will reign on this land.”
