Kochanova met with President of Uzbekistan
During the official visit, the Belarusian delegation headed by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The parties discussed issues of further deepening the multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus, including the expansion of inter-parliamentary co-operation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Kochanova conveyed to the Head of State sincere greetings and best wishes of Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral co-operation, the intensification of contacts and exchanges in accordance with the agreements reached at the highest level in February 2024.
During the conversation, the parties highly appreciated the fruitful results of joint parliamentary events held in Tashkent these days, including meetings in the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and within the framework of the 2nd Uzbek-Belarusian Women's Business Forum. In addition, the importance of continuing an intensive interparliamentary dialogue aimed at promoting specific co-operation projects between the two countries in the field of trade, industry, agriculture, education, healthcare and other priority areas was highlighted.
