Kochanova: Belarusian statehood approached moment of truth
A moment of truth has come in history of the Belarusian statehood – as noted by the Chairperson of the Upper House of Parliament, Natalya Kochanova, at today’s seminar of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on the topic: Republic of Belarus: From the Origins to the Present (Historical Path of State Building)
Ms. Kochanova stressed the symbolism that the event was organised in times when the Year of Historical Memory passed the baton to the Year of Peace and Creation. “Summing up the results of last year, we absolutely clearly see the tasks for 2023 that the authorities at all levels, our society, and the whole country face,” she said. “We can rightfully view this time as another moment of truth in the history of the Belarusian statehood.”
According to Ms. Kochanova, the search for answers to the crucial questions such as ‘who we are’, ‘where we are from’, and ‘where we are going’ contributed to all the campaigns held during the Year of Historical Memory. She expressed confidence that two truly unique events played a key role in that process: an open lesson on Knowledge Day entitled Historical Memory is Road to the Future, and This is Our History patriotic forum.
“It was then that dear Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko, our President and true Leader of the nation, paternally brought to each of us the only correct, historically truthful answers – based on the centuries-old experience of different generations of Belarusians, their historical choice, exploits of our ancestors, and examples of true love for the Homeland,” Ms. Kochanova stressed.
