Kochanova: Belarus, Uganda united by aspiration for sovereignty and independence
Belarus and Uganda are united in their desire to develop along the path of sovereignty and independence – as stated by Natalya Kochanova, the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, during a meeting with Jessica Alupo, the Vice President of the Republic of Uganda
According to Ms. Kochanova, good co-operation has developed between the countries, but it should be intensified in the economic, social and humanitarian spheres. “The Republic of Belarus is building the kindest relations with the countries that live and develop according to their own laws,” she told the foreign guest. “Uganda and our republic are united by their aspiration for sovereignty and independence. Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko always says that we should work more actively with African countries. We are building friendly, mutually beneficial relations with many African states, and – using the example of other countries – we can co-operate in absolutely all areas.”
Ms. Kochanova added that Belarus is ready to help Uganda with technology, “Our country is highly developed, it has large enterprises specialising in the production of agricultural machinery. We are actively supplying potash fertilisers. We are ready to co-operate and would like to discuss this in more detail when your delegation comes to our country on an official visit. We have strong public organisations which unite our women and youth. Therefore, if we start co-operating in this direction, I think it will be mutually beneficial for our countries.”
