Khudyk on fence construction on the Polish border: this is a monument to human tyranny
The appearance of a wall in Belovezhskaya Pushcha is a politicised project and nonsense – as noted by Belarus’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Andrei Khudyk during his talk with ONT TV channel
He said that a lot of work had been done to prevent the construction of a five-metre, 180km concrete fence on the Polish border with Belarus, “The construction of this fence is our pain. Previously, it was generally only a wire on which animals died.”
Andrei Khudyk underlined that the appearance of the wall in Belovezhskaya Pushcha is a politicised project and nonsense, “It can be called a monument to human tyranny. Alas, unfortunately, we have not yet been able to stop this construction.”
The Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection stressed that some Polish environmentalists understand what the appearance of this fence could lead to, “Meanwhile, some Polish environmentalists are subordinate to certain people. They do not conduct dialogue and correspondence with us. For more than six hundred years, this single transboundary territory has been indivisible. It boggles the mind that today it was simply divided. We hope that we will still be heard.”
