Khrenin: S-400 on combat duty to strengthen Belarus’ defence potential
The deployment of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system is aimed at strengthening Belarus’ defence potential – as noted by Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin in a video posted by the Defence Ministry’s Telegram channel
Mr. Khrenin stressed that another S-400 Triumph complex has arrived in Belarus as part of the country’s military-technical co-operation with Russia. The system will not only strengthen the airspace borders of Belarus, but will also be important in protecting the Union State.
The Defence Minister noted negative trends in the development of the military-political situation. In support of his words, he recalled the aggressive rhetoric of the leadership of Western countries, as well as the implementation of plans of Poland and the Baltic States to strengthen military capabilities. "In these conditions, it is vitally important for us to make decisions to strengthen the defence potential of our state," he stressed.
Mr. Khrenin added that the deployment of a S-400 complex, as well as other modern weapons and military equipment, on combat duty is one of such decisions.
