Khamenei: conflicts in Middle East to cease after US withdraw from region

Military conflicts in the Middle East will end when the United States and European countries leave the region – as stated by Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, TASS reports

"If they [the US and Europe] withdraw this region, without a doubt, these conflicts, wars, and clashes will disappear completely. <...> And the countries of the region can manage their region themselves, live together in peace, health, and well-being,” he said.

The Iranian spiritual leader added that the root cause of all regional problems is the presence of Western forces in the Middle East who act as ‘false claimants of peace and tranquillity’.
