Japan said it was subjected to cyberattacks every 14 seconds last year

Cyberattacks on Japan in one form or another occurred every 14 seconds last year – as noted by Japanese Economic Security Minister Sanae Takaichi, TASS reports

“Last year, there was at least one attack on any of the IP addresses in our country every 14 seconds,” the Japanese official said in an interview with the Nikkei newspaper.

At the same time, she stressed that a decade ago such attacks occurred with a frequency of 8.3 minutes.

According to Ms. Takaichi, Japan’s cyber security needs to be seriously improved. The official expressed particular concern about the existing threat of cyberattacks on key infrastructure facilities, civil aviation and medical institutions.
