Italy will accept about 100 Palestinian children for treatment
The Italian authorities are going to accept about a hundred seriously ill Palestinian children for medical care, TASS reports
A statement posted on the country's Defence Ministry website reads, “Italy will accept about a hundred Palestinian children with serious complications who, accompanied by their families, will receive medical care in a number of hospitals in the country."
The source adds that Italy is negotiating with Egypt to send a military field hospital to the Gaza Strip. "Rome and Paris could also co-operate on this issue and hope that other countries will join this initiative," the document reads.
According to the Italian Defence Ministry, only Italy and France have committed themselves to providing medical assistance to Palestinians.
