Italy, Ukraine plan to build dry port on border with Hungary
Rome and Kiev intend to build a dry port on the border with Hungary in order to export Ukrainian products not from the Black Sea ports – as noted by Italian Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, RIA Novosti reports
On Rai Radio 1, Urso stated, “For the speedy recovery of Ukraine, it’s necessary to create a logistics site on the border with Hungary, where, according to Kiev, a dry port should be built, i.e., a railway logistics sorting centre.”
According to him, after the creation of such an object, it will be possible to immediately ‘take out by land what was taken out of the blocked ports’.
As Urso said earlier, the port can be built in the city of Goronda. The project should be discussed during the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which has opened in Rome today. About a thousand companies and organisations from Ukraine and Italy will take part in this event. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba have already arrived in the Italian capital.
