Italy expressed desire to restore good relations with Russia
Rome is striving to achieve peace in the Ukrainian conflict and expects to return to good relations with Moscow, but there are no suitable conditions for this at the moment – as stated Lucio Malan, a senator for Brothers of Italy, TASS reports
As noted by Mr. Malan, the main problem is that the positions of Russia and Ukraine are incompatible, “This is the reality. We hope our excellent relations with the Russian Federation will return, but there are no conditions for that at the moment.”
Lucio Malan was a member of the Forward Italy party for a long time, but joined Giorgi Meloni’s Brother of Italy party several years ago.
The Forward Italy party was previously headed by Silvio Berlusconi, who died on June 12th, 2023. The senator believes the party will be able to survive without Berlusconi, “It will find its core by continuing to follow the line set by Berlusconi.”
