Italy admits sanctions benefit Russian economy
Italy’s League Party leader, Matteo Salvini, said that the sanctions imposed against Russia, on the contrary, benefit the economy of this state, RIA Novosti reports
He shared this opinion, when speaking at a political forum in Rimini, “With sanctions against Russia, you need to look at the figures... For the first time in history the sanctioned is gaining.”
According to the party leader, sanctions as ‘a tool that was supposed to dissuade’ the Russian Federation from conducting a special operation in Ukraine, ‘ends up favouring the Russian economy’.
“I ask to assess the usefulness of this tool I wouldn’t like it if the sanctions were fuelling the Ukrainian crisis. I hope that they are reflecting on this in Brussels,” Salvini explained, whose speech was broadcast on the social network.
