Italians go on strike in protest against supply of weapons to Israel, Ukraine
Employees of educational institutions, transport, railways and some companies in Italy are on strike, opposing Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, supply of weapons to Ukraine and poor working conditions within the country, TASS reports
It is informed that the protesters demand ‘an immediate cease-fire by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, an end to the supply of weapons to Israel and Ukraine, and to the financing of military expenditures’.
Among other things, school trade unions point to a shortage of personnel, excessive recruitment of employees on temporary contracts and uneven distribution of responsibilities.
Workers from different sectors of the economy raise a rather acute issue for Italy dealing with the safety of working conditions that are not properly guaranteed.
