China opposes any interference of external forces in the internal affairs of Belarus
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation. As the press service of the Belarusian leader reported, the Heads of State discussed a wide range of issues on the international, bilateral and domestic agenda.Belarus and China will soon mark an important date in the history of bilateral co-operation — the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In this regard, the leaders exchanged congratulations and substantively discussed ongoing projects and opportunities for expanding co-operation in many areas. The parties agreed to deepen mutually beneficial co-operation between the countries and to promote the China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership to continuously achieve new results.
It was emphasised that China and Belarus effectively co-operate in multilateral organisations and firmly support each other in protecting their main interests, which reflects the strategic value of the Chinese-Belarusian co-operation.
Touching upon the current international agenda, the President of Belarus and the President of the PRC exchanged views on the situation in Kazakhstan. Aleksandr Lukashenko informed his colleague about the activities of the CSTO peacekeeping forces in this country and the results of the extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
In the conversation, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping also touched upon topics related to countering the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as interaction in the humanitarian sphere.

In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC following the telephone conversation, emphasised the following,“China opposes the interference of external forces in the internal affairs of Belarus and, as always, supports Belarus in following the development path corresponding to its own national conditions. Both sides must uphold the common values of all humankind, guide the international community in shaping a correct view of democracy and human rights, and contribute to the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
