Iranian authorities support peace initiatives on Kiev
Iran welcomes any initiatives that can positively influence the political settlement of the conflict in Ukraine – as stated by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic Nasser Kanani Chafi, TASS reports
Among the initiatives that Iran is ready to support are the corresponding negotiations scheduled for early August in Saudi Arabia.
“We welcome any actions and initiatives that will make it possible to achieve a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis,” Nasser Kanani Chafi commented on the information about the peace talks, which are scheduled for early August in Jeddah.
On July 29th, the media reported that Saudi Arabia plans to hold peace talks on Ukraine on August 5th-6th in Jeddah. According to open sources, major officials from thirty countries will attend the meeting, but Russia is not on this list. It’s alleged that participation in the consultations has already been confirmed by the European Union, Great Britain, Poland and South Africa, and the presence of US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is expected.
