Investigative Committee opened criminal case against Latvian officials for crimes against the safety of humanity

Since early 2023, twelve people have already become victims of the Latvian authorities’ ideology, which promotes racial hatred, discrimination and violence. The Main Investigation Department of Belarus’ Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 128 (Crimes against the safety of humanity) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus – as stated in the commentary of the Investigative Committee’s spokesman Sergei Kabakovich, published on the department’s https://t.me/skgovby

According to Sergei Kabakovich, uniformed mercenaries on the Latvian border are particularly cruel and frantic towards migrants trying to enter the EU through the Baltic States.

“Violating the requirements of international treaties, including the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, followers of Eurofascism systematically carry out illegal deportations, acts of cruelty and violence, armed displacement, torture and bullying of foreigners. Some victims die in attempts to cross the border, and their bodies are thrown over the fence by the EU punitive battalions,” the official representative of the Investigative Committee underlined.

According to him, this chaos is due to the tacit consent of Latvian officials promoting the ideas of racial superiority and authoritarianism.

“It is they who believe that European culture and nation are supreme and should be protected from the influence of other cultures and peoples that do not correspond to their ideas about the purity of nations. Twelve people have already become victims of the dominant ideology of the Latvian authorities, which promotes racial hatred, discrimination and violence. Attempting to cross the border proved lethal for them. The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under Article 128 (Crimes against the safety of humanity) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The necessary investigative actions are being carried out,” said Sergei Kabakovich.
