International organisations are incapacitated, deputy says
The Deputy Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations, Pavel Yevseenko, delivered a speech at a meeting of the UN Commission on Population and Development, noting that the use of food and logistics chains as an instrument of political pressure and economic blackmail is the height of cynicism and deliberate provocation against the background of the fact that almost two billion people are malnourished worldwide. As a result of such actions, record inflation and a drop in the standard of living of ordinary people are registered. A deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Oleg Gaidukevich, commented on this statement.
“Unfortunately, international organisations are currently incapacitated. There is only the right of force in the world," the deputy said in his talk with Alfa Radio. “Famine is approaching, and a huge number of people die from hunger and diseases daily. However, the West is not interested in this. It needs to invest millions of Dollars in the opposition worldwide, to fight for democracy and freedom there instead of sending this money to help those suffering from hunger. They are not interested in feeding children, providing them with bread and water. Instead, they are waging a geopolitical struggle against Russia and China. Why? This is because they understand perfectly well that, if these countries are allowed to develop peacefully, then at a certain stage they will not be able to say anything at all; markets and regions will be lost.”
“What can we say about the UN? Who invests most of all into this organisation? Where is its office located? Let us be frank: international organisations will dance to the tune of those who finance them. The UN has long shown that it is incapable of resolving serious conflicts and issues. The United Nations failed to stop the US invasion of Iraq, the bombing and destruction of Yugoslavia," Mr. Gaidukevich stressed.
“International law does not work. At the same time, Belarus declares at all platforms that it should work. It is necessary to keep doing this, since we are backed by the truth. We should also form new international institutions with the countries that support us. Take the tribunal, for example. International institutions will not investigate the crimes committed on the Belarus-Poland border in relation to refugees. Accordingly, we need to form our own, to investigate and to bring to criminal responsibility in accordance with the law. This will be achieved one day in the future. There is no need to think that the confrontation is related to the whole world. The EU and the US are just a part of the world. We, in turn, have the Middle East, Africa and other regions behind us," the deputy concluded.
