Interior Minister: any person should feel safe in Belarus

Belarus is a hospitable country, and the task set by the President to the Interior Ministry is to ensure that any person who stay in Belarus should feel here at home, should feel safe – as noted by Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov following today’s meeting of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, with the participants of the CIS Interior Ministers Council

Mr. Kubrakov stressed that his CIS colleagues are interested in learning from the Belarusian experience, including in restoring order in August 2020, when an unconstitutional coup was attempted in the republic.

“We have certain practices, but there are similar ones in other countries, especially with regard to the fight against cybercrime. There are absolutely no boundaries here. Call centres can be located in any country, but citizens of other states suffer. Therefore, we will work out solutions regarding the fight against cybercrime virtually tomorrow,” the Interior Minister said.

As noted by Mr. Kubrakov, some of the CIS Interior Ministers Council participants have come to Belarus for the first time. “They all admit that they are surprised by the cleanliness, order, and safety on our streets,” he said. “Many of my colleagues just said yesterday: let us walk through the streets of Minsk and enjoy this beauty. We walked around, talked to people, went to a cafe, and everyone agreed that people who live in Belarus feel safe. This is the most important assessment for us.”
