Information Ministry condemned EU’s new sanctions against Belarus’ media
Belarus’ Information Ministry condemns and considers illegitimate the decision of the Council of the European Union on the application of unmotivated sanctions against the heads of the largest state media: BelTA News Agency and the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, as well as a number of Belarusian journalists, sb.by reports with reference to the Information Ministry
As noted by the source, the EU officials have once again demonstrated that loud arguments about democracy and freedom of speech in the ‘garden of Eden’ completely break down the reality of real European politics, which is carried out with gross violations of international law.
The Information Ministry stressed that the European Union is already so bogged down in ‘a package of dozens of sanctions packages’ that it does not even feel the need for at least a minimal justification for its illegal actions. Complete impunity and blatant bans not just on journalistic activities, but on any alternative opinion in general, vividly show who is actually degrading to the state of ‘the jungle’ these days.
In turn, the Information Ministry is ready to provide full assistance to journalists from the European Union in covering the real situation in Belarus.
