India planning mission to explore Venus

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to launch a mission, Shukrayaan-1, on March 29th, 2028 to study the surface of Venus, TASS reports with reference to the India Today TV channel

It is reported that the spacecraft will take a total of 112 days to reach Venus. Shukrayaan-1 will be India's first attempt to explore the interior of this planet. During the mission, a powerful launch vehicle will be used to propel the spacecraft during its flight to Venus.

The orbiter is expected to reach its destination on July 19th, 2028. Its main task will be to study the composition of the planet's atmosphere, surface characteristics and potential volcanic activity.
