In nine months of 2022, foreign investments into Belarus’ economy made $5.3bn
From January-September 2022, foreigners invested $5.3bn into Belarus’ real sector of the economy – as reported by the National Statistical Committee
Among the major investors of the country’s organisations were business entities of Russia (50.4 percent of all investments), Cyprus (17.7 percent), the Netherlands (5.2 percent), and Ukraine (4 percent). At the same time, foreign direct investments amounted to $4.6bn – or 87.4 percent of all foreign investments.
In turn, Belarus’ organisations invested $4.2bn abroad in the first nine months of 2022. Most funds went to business entities of Russia (85.2 percent). In addition, investments to Ireland (2.6 percent) and Ukraine (2.2 percent) were registered. Direct investments accounted for 90.4 percent of all investments abroad.
