Ilham Aliyev congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on successful staging of 2nd CIS Games
A meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council was held in Bishkek. In his speech, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in particular, congratulated the Belarusian Head of State, Aleksandr Lukashenko, on the successful staging of the 2nd CIS Games, azertag.az reports.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, on the successful staging of the 2nd CIS Games,” said the Azerbaijani leader.
He also noted that the humanitarian sphere is one of the main ones within the CIS, “Azerbaijan makes a great contribution to the development of our relations in this area. I would like to express my gratitude to my colleagues for supporting Azerbaijan’s candidacy to host the 3rd CIS Games in 2025. I’m convinced that the 3rd CIS Games, in addition to strengthening our co-operation in sports, will also become another demonstration of our successful interaction within the CIS.”
