IIHF provisionally included Belarusian national ice hockey team in 2026 Olympics qualifiers

The International Ice Hockey Federation has provisionally included the Belarusian national team in the qualification for the 2026 Olympics, IIHF reports

In case of returning to international competitions, Belarus’ team will take part in the final stage of the qualifying tournament for the 2026 Olympics scheduled to be held from August 29th to September 1st, 2024. It will then perform in Group D together with the teams of Slovakia, Kazakhstan and the one winning the first qualification rounds. This group tournament will be hosted by Bratislava.

The Belarusian team has a theoretical seeding place, but the final decision on the participation of the national team in the selection for the Olympics will be made in April next year.
