IAEA presented first results of Belarusian NPP operation and its integration into national economy
The stand of the Belarusian nuclear power plant was presented on National Unity Day at the IAEA headquarters as part of the programme of events of the 68th session of the IAEA General Conference, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian NPP’s PR Department
In his speech at the opening of the stand, Director General of the Belarusian NPP Sergei Bobovich noted the primary role of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, in the implementation of the project. The head of the nuclear power plant thanked for the comprehensive support and technical assistance of the IAEA, pointing out the positive changes that have occurred in the region of the NPP construction and in the country as a whole thanks to the nuclear power plant.
“The advantages of nuclear energy are obvious, and they concern not only the economy, but also other spheres of public life: science, education, medicine, the rapid development of new technologies and competencies," Mr. Bobovich noted.
The Belarusian NPP has been participating in exhibitions on the side-lines of the IAEA General Conference since 2015. In accordance with the principles of openness and transparency, Belarus has fully informed representatives of the international nuclear energy community about all stages of the NPP construction. In 2024, information about the first results of the Belarusian NPP operation and its integration into the Belarusian economy are presented at the company's stand.
