IAEA Head: situation at Zaporozhye NPP is global problem
During his recent visit to Kiev, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, called the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant a global problem that goes beyond technical aspects, TASS reports
"The fate of Europe's largest nuclear power plant and the consequences of its problems go beyond the purely technical aspect. That is why I talked to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, here, and I had also spoken with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. These are the issues of global importance related to international peace and security. These are the issues of high political importance," Mr. Grossi said.
The IAEA Head noted the need to maintain dialogue with Moscow and Kiev. "We need to continue the dialogue here, which is natural, since we have supported Ukraine from the very beginning, but [we should communicate] with Moscow as well, since Russians run the station," he added.
