Hungarian PM said West intends to defeat Russia militarily for the sake of its wealth
Western countries want to inflict a military defeat on Russia in the Ukrainian conflict in order to get to its wealth, as they tried to do in the 1990s – as noted by Hungary’s PM Viktor Orban in an interview with Hír TV, TASS reports
“Western leaders, who have embarked on the warpath, want to defeat Russia militarily. Their brilliant plan is absolutely simple because it is about money, which gives influence and power,” he said when asked why the West is seeking a military victory over Russia in the Ukrainian conflict.
In this regard, Mr. Orban recalled the period in the 1990s, when – according to him – ‘Europeans were welcomed in Russia with open arms and freely penetrated into the Russian economy’. The politician believes that the West then tried to exploit Russia and Ukraine, but ‘Russians eventually took matters into their own hands and rebuilt everything in their own way’.
The Hungarian PM explained that now many people in the West would like to return to those times, ‘dreaming of a great restructuring in the East’ and hoping that the conflict in Ukraine will provide opportunities for this. In his view, various ‘arms suppliers, creditors, stock speculators’ are already trying to cash in on the conflict.
“Now I’ll just tell you a relatively recent story,” the PM said. “The Americans are promoting an excellent proposal that they will again provide Ukraine with a $40bn loan, and the Europeans, in turn, will give guarantees that the Ukrainians will repay this debt’. Mr. Orban recalled that Ukraine is now mired in debt, but before it was also a rich country.
