Belarus' Healthcare Minister: coronavirus won’t go anywhere
The coronavirus will not go away, but will turn into a classic seasonal virus that is always spread in autumn and spring, Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told STV TV channel, BelTA informs
The Healthcare Minister expressed the opinion that in the future the coronavirus will become a classic seasonal virus. It is necessary to be ready for this and to follow the tactics chosen earlier. Mr. Pinevich stressed that since we did not take such drastic steps that were popular in other countries, we did not suffer significant economic losses because of this.
“Our pockets, thank God, are not empty. You can see it and economic growth also confirms this. This is the first. But this does not mean that we can survive the next wave, and the next, and the next. Some epidemiologists say that the strain with the easier spread is the last, but note that in these two years, the planning horizon of even the big specialists was not more than two months. In any case, I think that we are on the threshold of the fact that the coronavirus will not go anywhere, but it will become a classic seasonal virus that always meets us in autumn and spring,” said Mr. Pinevich.
