Health ministries of Belarus, Zimbabwe signed memorandum of co-operation

The Ministry of Health of Belarus and the Ministry of Health and Child Care of the Republic of Zimbabwe signed a memorandum of co-operation, which contains agreements on the training of doctors, students, teachers, postgraduate training, drug provision, and supplies of medical equipment, sb.by reports

The Minister of Health and Child Care of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Douglas Mombeshora, stressed that the main mission of the delegation's visit to Belarus is to expand co-operation in the medical sphere.

“We are mainly talking about the supply of medicines for various purposes, training specialists both in Belarus and Zimbabwe. We are also interested in the achievements of Belarusians in terms of baby food. And finally, technology, especially in telemedicine,” Douglas Mombeshora noted.

The Deputy Healthcare Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Boris Androsyuk, drew the attention of representatives of Zimbabwe to the main aspects of medical care in Belarus.

“Domestic manufacturers showed their developments to their foreign colleagues. This includes the equipment that we supply not only to our clinics, but also to clinics in more than 30 foreign countries. We can fully equip the resuscitation and surgical departments. We make the world's most demanded supplies for haemodialysis, which have been registered abroad. We showed the guests from a friendly country the medicines we produce. They are much cheaper than their foreign counterparts. We are ready to help our foreign friends. We can equip clinics, pharmacies, and pharmacy warehouses to provide full-fledged assistance to the population of Zimbabwe and neighbouring countries,” Boris Androsyuk stated.

The official delegation of the Ministry of Health and Child Care of the Republic of Zimbabwe, headed by its Minister of Health and Child Care Douglas Mombeshora, is visiting Belarusian healthcare institutions. The Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre Mother and Child, Sergei Vasiliev, introduced the guests to the latest methods of nursing premature babies. The delegation also visited the Alexandrov National Cancer Centre of Belarus, where the Deputy Director for Research, Sergei Krasny, told the guests from a friendly country about new methods used in the treatment of patients with oncological diseases.
