Head of Belarus’ NOC congratulated Sergei Koplyakov on his 65th birthday
The Head of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus, Viktor Lukashenko, has congratulated Sergei Koplyakov on his 65th birthday – as reported on the NOC official website
The Head of the NOC noted that the victories of the famous swimmer at the 1980 Summer Olympics in the 200m freestyle and 4x200m relay race became the highlight of those Games.
“Your achievement at the main competitions of the four years – two gold medals – remains an example for the current generation of Belarusian swimmers. Having completed your career, you have been passing on your experience and knowledge to young athletes for many years, helping them achieve significant victories,” the congratulatory message reads.
Viktor Lukashenko wished Sergei Koplyakov strong health, happiness, family well-being and success in his coaching work.
