Group of Donbass children arrived in Minsk for recuperation and medical rehabilitation

The Aleksei Talai Charitable Foundation continues to welcome Donbass children in Belarus for recuperation and medical rehabilitation, and a new group of boys and girls have arrived in Minsk recently from the Lugansk People's Republic

A public figure, Paralympian and motivational coach, founder of the charitable organisation, Aleksei Talai, commented, “Novopolotsk and the city administration have prepared three large-scale programmes. The children will be able to enjoy various cultural, sports and recreational activities almost non-stop. All of them are heartily welcomed, with sincere hospitality and cordiality. Every time we meet children and see their eyes, we experience the most trembling feelings. We understand that we are doing a God-pleasing thing – helping the fraternal people and the new territories of the Russian Federation, the cities and almost fully ruined villages where people still live. People – who do not want to leave their native land – simply begged us to provide at least a little opportunity to their children to recuperate and holiday in our country.”

Mr. Talai added that it’s a direction of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, to continue this important humanitarian project in spite of everything – ‘i.e. external pressure and attempts to discredit us by appealing to international courts’. “I am also under the EU sanctions in connection with this project. Unfortunately, our Polish brothers were the first to block my entry to the European Union, which is why the opportunity to participate in the Paralympic Games, where I made my way thanks to my results, is unavailable for me, the current Paralympian of the national team. Canada is now imposing sanctions against me and my foundation. At the same time, we repeat – as our Head of State said – that this pressure is futile. We do not leave our own behind, especially those who live in the regions with the most difficult situation, where shelling continues, where civilians suffer.”
