Gosstandart: Belarusian quality is a brand
The quality of Belarusian products is already a brand – as stated by the First Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Standardisation (Gosstandart), Yelena Morgunova
“Quality needs to be dealt with constantly. The quality of Belarusian products is already a brand. Only the production of high-quality products that meet the expectations of consumers allows manufacturing companies to be confident in their future. It creates an image base and authority to achieve even better product quality,” Ms. Morgunova said.
According to the official, the improvement of quality is an economic task in Belarus, and its importance is recognised at the highest level, “During his visit to the Mogilev Region on September 29th, the Head of State proposed declaring 2024 Year of Quality. Currently, the directions of work in the field of quality of domestic products are stipulated in the Quality 2021-2025 programme adopted and approved at the Government level. It is aimed at transforming domestic production into a competitive complex that quickly and flexibly responds to external conditions and the domestic market needs.”
Ms. Morgunova added that 2023 is a special year for the Quality programme, since a half of its provisions have already been implemented. “Gosstandart will give a number of serious analytical proposals. Among the key tasks, it sees the need to tighten integral quality indicators, popularisation of modern assessment methods, and risk-based management techniques,” she explained.
