Google CEO warned about AI danger
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said artificial intelligence can cause harm if deployed wrongly, The Guardian reports
Mr. Pichai also called for the creation of a global regulatory framework for AI, similar to the treaties used to regulate the use of nuclear weapons.
According to the Google CEO, governments need to develop a global framework to regulate AI as it evolves. Last month, thousands of experts, researchers and supporters of artificial intelligence, including Twitter owner Elon Musk, signed a letter calling for the suspension of the creation of a ‘giant’ AI for at least six months amid fears that the development of technology could worsen.
Mr. Pichai added that AI can cause harm because of its ability to produce disinformation, “It will be possible with the AI to create, you know, a video easily. Where it could be anyone saying something, but they never said that. On a societal scale, it can cause a lot of harm.”
