Golovchenko: Belarus, Egypt can open new page of co-operation and friendship
Belarus and Egypt can open a new page of co-operation and friendship – as stated by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, at a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mostafa Madbouly, BelTA reports
Roman Golovchenko thanked his colleague for inviting the Belarusian delegation to pay an official visit to Egypt. “The presidents of our countries have met several times. It seems to me that there is a very high level of mutual understanding between them and a commitment to strengthening Belarusian-Egyptian relations in all spheres," the PM said, adding that the Belarusian side had been carefully preparing for the meeting.
“We hope that the fruitful negotiations that we will hold during our stay in Cairo will open a new page in the history of partnership between Egypt and Belarus,” Mr. Golovchenko noted. “The history of our co-operation and friendship goes back to the days of the Soviet Union, when Belarusian specialists participated in the implementation of many projects in Egypt. I believe that we, Mr. Prime Minister, should use this chance – our meeting, the negotiations that we will hold in the format of delegations – in order to open a new page, new directions in which we need to make even more efforts for the benefit of the economies of our countries.”
