Germany likely to experience gas shortage until 2027
Germany – which has suffered more than other countries from a reduction in Russian gas supplies – may face depletion of resource storage facilities in the coming years, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Bloomberg
Sebastian Blaschke, the Managing Director of INES, warned, “The risk of gas shortages will last until the winter of 2026-2027, unless additional infrastructure measures are taken.”
To date, German storage facilities, according to media reports, are 90 percent full. Mr. Blaschke believes that a cold winter could jeopardise Germany's energy security.
According to Bloomberg, if the coming winter turns out to be cold in Germany, then the supply of energy resources may be depleted by the end of January 2024.
