Garbage collectors in Paris said they could hold strikes during Olympics
A union representing Paris garbage collectors has made a statement threatening the Mayor's Office with strikes during the Olympics and Paralympics, TASS reports
It is announced that the strikes may take place on May 14th-16th, May 22nd-24th, as well as from July 1st to September 8th. Garbage collectors demand a monthly increase in salaries of 400 Euros and a special bonus of 1,900 Euros for workers on duty throughout the Games.
In 2023, garbage collectors in Paris went on strike for several weeks, opposing the government's pension reform. Because of that, the amount of accumulated garbage on the streets of the capital exceeded 10 thousand tonnes.
