G7 urged to deprive N. Korea of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles
The Group of Seven (G7) states have called for the complete and irreversible dismantling of North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles, TASS reports
It is noted that this call is stated in a joint statement of the G7 countries, issued following the virtual meeting of G7 leaders.
The document reads, “We reiterate our call for the complete, verifiable and irreversible" dismantlement of all of North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile.”
It was previously reported that the G7 foreign ministers strongly condemned DPRK’s launch of a ballistic missile in mid-November. They noted that this action poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the region and beyond. Any launch using ballistic missile technology, even if characterised as a military intelligence satellite, constitutes a clear and flagrant violation of relevant UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
